Forget the hype cycles — this is blockchain with purpose.
The Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and EMURGO Labs, has just kicked off the SDG Blockchain Accelerator — a global initiative aimed at putting Web3 to work on the real issues that actually matter.
We’re talking about climate resilience, financial inclusion, and global equity — not another meme coin.
“Blockchain is not just tech — it’s a transformational force to tackle humanity’s biggest challenges,”
— Teodor Petricevic, Program Lead at UNDP
The accelerator is laser-focused on building and scaling blockchain solutions aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Here’s the plan:
This is blockchain beyond speculation — designed for transparency, inclusion, and measurable outcomes.
The UNDP is calling on builders, innovators, and changemakers to get serious about using blockchain for impact.
“It’s a call to action,” says UNDP.
“Bold collaboration + blockchain transparency = breakthrough solutions that can improve lives at scale.”
The accelerator isn't just about shiny tech — it's about deploying real-world tools where they’re needed most.
As one of BGA’s founding members, Bybit isn’t just sitting on the sidelines. The exchange has already committed $1 million to support EthicHub, a DeFi-powered platform helping smallholder farmers access fair funding.
This is crypto not for the whales — but for the people who feed the planet.
Earlier this year, BGA leveled up its global game with an official expansion into Europe, joining the UNDP roundtable in Brussels under the banner:
"Empowering the Future: A Strategic Dialogue on Emerging Technologies and Impact Entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans."
The guest list?
Ethereum Foundation, Solana Labs, Cardano Foundation, Celo, Algorand Foundation, Stellar Development Foundation, Metis, the European Commission, and a who’s who of Web3 policy voices.
BGA’s mission is clear: connect the dots between regulators, builders, and impact leaders across borders.
