Bloomberg analysts Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart say several crypto ETFs are likely to be approved by the SEC in 2025. Their predictions:
✅ Litecoin (LTC) ETF – 90% chance
✅ Dogecoin (DOGE) ETF – 75% chance
✅ Solana (SOL) ETF – 70% chance
✅ XRP ETF – 65% chance
Litecoin ETFs have the highest approval odds, with applications already submitted by Canary and Grayscale.
The Ripple vs. SEC case remains the biggest obstacle for XRP ETFs. While a court ruled that XRP is not a security for retail investors, the SEC’s lawsuit against Ripple still hangs over the market. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce is expected to push for clearer crypto regulations by late 2025, potentially opening the door for XRP ETFs.
Unlike XRP, both Litecoin and Dogecoin are classified as commodities, making them easier for SEC approval. The SEC is already reviewing 19b-4 filings for LTC and DOGE ETFs, meaning these could launch before the others.
The SEC must finalize decisions on these ETFs by October 2025. The outcome could reshape the crypto investment landscape, making spot crypto ETFs mainstream.
